2. Basic requirements for applicants

1) Standard admission

  • Undergraduate school graduates or graduates-to-be by February 2020 from either domestic or international colleges
  • Applicants who have completed alternative college-level education recognized by law

2) Special admission

  • Non-Korean applicants holding nationalities from English/Chinese/Japanese speaking countries who hold a bachelor’s degree
  • Applicants who have completed over three years of education from elementary school, junior high school, high school or college in English/Chinese/Japanese speaking countries

  * Special admission applicants are given different type of questions as opposed to standard admission applicants.


4. . Admission schedule

5. Required documents

  • 1) A copy of application form, admission process record sheet
        * Printed documents without the applicant’s photograph will not be accepted.
  • 2) A copy of either certificate of graduation from undergraduate school or certificate of expectant graduation
  • 3) Special admission applicants must additionally submit certificates or documents that can verify applicants’ overseas education
        history.
  •   - (e.g. Report cards, enrolment certificates that can verify over three years of overseas education history)
  • 4 ) Non-Korean applicants must submit
  •   - a) a copy of his/her own and parents’ passport or a copy of Certificate of citizenship.
  •   - b) score card of TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) (test must be taken within 2 years of SUFS application deadline)
  • 5) All documents should be in either English or in Korean. Original documents in other languages must be translated in Korean and
        notarised. Notarised document should be submitted with original documents to be accepted.
  • 6) Graduates of Colleges/ Universities from China should submit original documents
        (diploma and report card). And notarized document should be submitted with original documents to be accepted.

6. Online application

  • 1 ) Visit the SUFs website at http://www.sufs.ac.kr. Please click the “Admission for Spring 2020: Apply now” popup window.
  • 2) Fill in required fields on the application form → Upload photograph → Confirm application → Make application fee payment
        → Print out the completed application form
  • 3) Submit the printed application form along with admission process record sheet
  • 4) Deadline for submitting documents is 14 November. Applicants can either submit documents by visiting SUFS in person or by
         registered mail. Documents sent to SUFS by mail must be received by 14 November.
  •     Send documents to : Seocho-gu Yanjae-dong 17-7 Seoul University of Foreign Studies Seoul, 137-130
       * Please specify as “SUFS Application form” on the envelope.

7. Application fee: KRW 90,000

8. Test centre: TBA via SUFS website

※ Applicants who have passed the first step are only eligible for taking the second step. Result of the first step is not counted in the second step evaluation. Successful applicants are solely decided based on applicants’ second step test results.
